The CyrusOne Almond project in Illinois will consist of two state-of-the-art facilities totaling 446,000 sf and delivering 40 MW of initial IT capacity. John Burns is proud to support this high-profile development—under the direction of Titan Electric and Clune Construction—by self-performing the underground utility and assisting with the site electrical services.
The Challenges
- Excavation, concrete pouring, and backfilling for all electrical and
telecommunication duct banks - Stub-up conduit installations into the building at POE (Point of Entry) rooms
- Assisting electricians with conduit installation within the duct bank system
- Excavation and installation of power and telecommunication vaults
- Construction, forming, and pouring of racks and 90s for transformers
- Conduit proofing and pulling inner duct through telecommunication conduits
- Excavation and concrete work for light pole foundations
- Splicing and standing of site lighting
- Trenching and backfilling for site lighting, security conduits, and the building
ground ring - Assisting in material deliveries for other trades
