Weigh-In-Motion System Installation

John Burns successfully installed Weigh-In-Motion sites at three locations throughout the I-355 and I-88 Illinois Tollway System. John Burns removed the existing pavement sections and installed new sensors and scales in precast pavement slabs that weighed vehicles as they traveled over the lanes.  John Burns installed new cameras and overweight sensors that log license plates and vehicle information for weight enforcement.

• Installed precast pavement slabs, with integrated weigh-in-motion devices across 9 lanes of traffic
• Installed, tested & calibrated a Vehicle Overheight Detection System
• Installation of 2,500 LF of fiber optic cables & terminations
• Coordinated all testing to ensure weights were accurate with Illinois State Police
